Sitting in my office talking on a conference call I noticed a White-throated Nighjar fly by my window being mobbed by Welcome Swallows about 10:00 AM. The bird landed on a concrete barrier which runs between the South Bank Train Station and Southbank Institute of Technology (BNE). When a bus would drive by it would take to the air and be mobbed again before settling back down. It has been going on for about 30 odd minutes now. I presume this would be a migrant who picked an unfortunate over day roost, because there is certainly no habitat near by...Too bad I don't have my bins!
