Hello Debbie
If nothing else, you'll be happy to know you are not alone, for what it is all
worth.
Personally, I have sent no less than four letters to members of my member of
parliament here in SA (and also federally -including Penny Wong and her
somewhat "decrepit sidekick") regarding this backward/redneck practice, but on
each occasion there has been the usual "respect of a constituent's thoughts and
understanding for my/our position", but it is all in the end "respectfully
humoured". That's the extent of the response. They do not seem to understand
the value of the clean, environmental dollar. Instead, the killing continues!
There have been no reports of dead birds yet here from SA, but I imagine the
results would be similar to those of Victoria once they start filtering in. Is
there a word for "Small Dicks with Guns"?
Like you, I beg the caring amongst us to take a stance.
Regards,Michael Wood
Ps: I have tried to get in contact with Penny Wong but it is made so difficult,
a lot like our "national carrier".

Duck slaughterFrom:Debbie Lustig <>Date:Tue, 22 Mar
2011 15:50:05 +1100Please spend a minute looking at this. It's 68 dead ducks,
including seven
ducklings, found on Lake Buloke and Kerang wetlands on opening morning of
Victoria's duck hunting season, 19 March 2011.
Shot and abandoned were seven of the eight game species: Shoveler, Wood Duck,
Pacific Black Duck, Hardhead, Pink-eared Duck, Grey Teal and Chestnut Teal.
It's widely believed hunters leave them in order to continue shooting, as
they're limited to 10 ducks a day.
Also shot were coots, three Plumed Whistling-Ducks, a Grebe, and Grey Teal and
Pink-eared Duck ducklings. Also a Little Button-Quail.
I urge you to speak out about this hideous practice. Write to your MP, premier,
environment minister. Bird people of all people appreciate the value of the
wetlands and its creatures.
