Folk that knew Ted (Tadao) Shimba, author of 'A Photographic Guide to the
Birds of Japan' when he lived in Australia for many years, will be relieved
to know that he and his family are safe following the devastating earthquake
and resultant tsunami. They live far from the affected area.
