There is a bit flowing into Lake Eyre at the moment, looked pretty good when I flew over it last Saturday. Don't think it will get much past Lake Eyre, come to think of it I don't know if we want a rain event that would cause L Eyre basin to overflow, it would be a bit dampish round Adelaide. but it has happened, but a fair while back.

Cheers,

Just hoping some of it gets down here through SA. The Murray is currently flowing quite well, not flooding. The water at present is "blackwater", ie all the post stagnant and salty stuff from Qld and NSW. Lots of debris and green algae as well. River towns here are waiting for this to clear, ie out to sea, then hopefully the river will get a proper flush with fresh water.

Dear All,

NASA's Earth Observatory site has some impressive images of the
Channel Country following the recent rains. They can be seen at
http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/NaturalHazards/view.php?id=49582&src=nha

Should be some interesting birding when it is dry enough to get into.

Cheers,

Carl Clifford
