Birding Aussers may remember the discussion of last year, about tern chicks
that appeared to be retreating en mass from a photographer, into the sea
whereupon they were eaten by sharks.

After consulting a number of authorities as to whether this behaviour was
natural or not, I raised the issue with the committee of Wildlife Tourism
Australia. The chair, Dr. Ronda Green, was sufficiently concerned to write
to Kerry Stokes of Channel 7. We haven¹t yet had a reply.
