I was listening for Ground Parrots at dusk near Noosa yesterday and heard at least six birds. From my knowledge of the extent of suitable habitat in the region, my guess is that there are 20-30 birds in the vicinity. I flushed two parrots and a King Quail. Offshore were many thousands of Common Terns inshore feeding on bait fish.
