Greetings all
After the worst of the wind had passed Alan and Maria moved from their hidey
hole under the dining room table wedged in the laundry between the washing
machine and the shelves back to their own bed for some sleep. This morning
Alan reports a small roof leak, but apart from that OK. They are now
implementing their survival plan, getting the camp fridge going, etc.
Thank you for your greetings. I will pass them on to Alan and Maria in due
course. Based on what I heard on ABC radio this morning the period they are
without power could be somewhere between 3-5 days and a similar number of
weeks. Only time and Electricity supplier investigation will tell.
regards

Greetings All,
Thanks for you good wishes. After the storm passes it is very unlikely that
we'll have phones for long. If possible I'll ring Peter my brother and
Peter if you could please do a 'reply all' to this email to let you know
that we are OK. Franz and Peter if you could let other family members know
too that would be great. Greg, could you post on birding-aus please.
This is one big mother! Wide and deep.
We have just about completed our preparations and will shelter under a table
in the laundry. We have water, radio, plenty of food for a week and the
ability to store it and cook it once the cyclone passes.
Regards,
Alan & Maria
