Hi All,

Mike Carter, Tony Palliser and Frank OConnor report 5-6 Yellow Bitterns, Malayan Night Heron, Red-collared Dove and the recently reported Oriental Reed Warbler on Christmas island today and yesterday. On Cocos I think the only additional bird that was mentioned was a Pond Heron - species indeterminate at present but possibly something interesting!

Mike tells me that in the space of a little over a week he has seen 10 new birds for his Australian list - fortunately he returns to Melbourne soon :)

Cheers,
Rohan
