Hi all

Yesterday, the Cairns Post reported that a male cassowary was caught in a
pig trap set in Garners Beach and had to be euthanased because of his
injuries. He had 2 chicks with him and they are now in the care of the
Parks and Wildlife Service.

I wonder if this tragedy will cause the relevant authorities to review the
procedures for pig-trapping in cassowary habitat?

Regards

Andrew
