Greetings, The bird which I gave directions to has turned out to be a beauty. While we were at the Golden Bowerbird bower this afternoon a female was hanging around. He did a lot of displaying. Head bows, wing flicks and shimmies along with bringing the tail well under the body. He also pruned leaves from a sapling near the bower. It was a great experience and I've seen many of them. This bird is very relaxed about humans but very excitable when it comes to other bowerbirds. He will chase off any youngsters which approach and nearly always follows this with a vertical hover display. This gives one the impression of a solid gold object sitting on top of a flashing triangular light, surrounded by liquid gold.
