Returning from a trip to Phillip Island on Sunday we encountered a large flock of Black Noddies feeding on bait fish. Sitting on the water in amongst the flock was a Buller's Shearwater. I can find no mention of this bird being recorded for Norfolk Island in the Margaret Christian's book "Norfolk Island ... the birds". Does anyone know if there have been other sightings of this seabird near Norfolk Island before?
