Indeed - numbers at coastal sites such as the Werribee region are way down - see for example the comparison in numbers between 2009 and 2010 at, which shows the result of annual BOCA Challenge Bird Count in the Werribee Area. Last year - 5,000 Pink-ears - this year 1! Hardhead have dropped from 7,000 to 8!
