Many Channel Country National Parks Provisionally Closed Until 31 March 2011

The prolonged wet in western Qld has resulted in a string of closure  
notifications for parks around in the Longreach region.  For example:

The creation of a new park alert has been requested.

The alert details are:

Title: Lochern National Park - Closed
Lead: We wish to advise that Lochern National Park is closed until 31  
March 2011 with long term weather predictions of an extreme wet  
season. If weather conditions improve, Parks status will be updated.
