Hi all, thanks to the many people who responded to my query, the consensus
seems to be an immature Horsfield's Bronze or Black-eared Cuckoo. While we
had considered this I'd never seen one as plain grey all over as this one.
There's not the slightest hint of barring on the underside. There is however
a faint marking on the side of the head behind the eye that indicates a
cuckoo - photo 16 shows it best.
