Hi,
There is one spot left on the charter flight from Port Macquarie on Wednesday.
The Red-billed Tropicbird is STILL present. Unbelievably, all three tropicbirds
were seen the other day...which is a virtual impossibility anywhere in the
world!! The trip will depart PM at 6am, arriving LHI at 8am and we have 10
hours on the island, departing at about 6pm. On arrival we will be guided to
where the bird is. Then, assuming we see the bird, we'll spend some time
looking for LHI Woodhen. Weather permitting, we have a tentative 2pm schedule
for a pelagic in the afternoon, with a good chance of Kermadec Petrel and
possibly White-bellied Storm Petrel. Black-winged Petrels are now regularly
seen coming into the island during the day near where the Red-billed Tropicbird
is as well as Grey Ternlet.
Anyone interested in this spot, call me immediately on 0405 220830.
Simon.
