Nick & Liz Livanos, Robert Kilkelly and I are heading up to the Cairns area on
the 19th of this month. We've never birded the area although have quite a few
endemics from a Townsville/Paluma trip 3 years ago. We only have 4 full days
for birding (2 nights in Cairns, 3 at Kingfisher Park) so would love assistance
in finding the following species:

Southern Cassowary
Helmeted Quineafowl
Great-billed Heron
Sarus Crane
Bush-hen
Red-necked Crake
Asian Dowitcher (still on the esplanade?)
Oriental Cuckoo (arrived yet?)
Chestnut-breasted Cuckoo
Papuan Frogmouth (Kingfisher Park?)
Buff-breasted Paradise-kingfisher
Lovely Fairy-wren
Fernwren
Atherton Scrubwren
Graceful Honeyeater (Kingfisher Park?)
Varied Honeyeater (Esplanade?)
Pied Monarch
Blue-faced Parrot-finch (Is the Mt Lewis clearing the only site?)
Barn or Red-rumped Swallows??

Many thanks in advance. Two of our party are tropic birding virgins so gearing
up for a big one.

Cheers
Grant Brosie
