Sea Eagle piracy

Most if not all of the Heliaeetus genus have a reputation as being
thugs. Benjamin Franklin was not impressed with the Bald Eagle as
symbol of the USA, describing it as being lazy and a rank coward and
by no means a proper symbol for the USA. He preferred the Turkey.

In Malaysia, I have seen a WBSE beating up a Brahminy Kite for its
catch, as well as both of the species of Icthyophaga Fish-Eagles.

Cheers,

Carl Clifford

Hi Belinda

I have witnessed White-bellied Sea Eagles (adults) bully other raptors
(including Swamp Harrier and Whistling Kite) to the point that they drop
their catch and the Sea Eagle wins!

Cheers
Akos
