It didn't take four days to get the message out, Simon. It was there
all the time on Birdforum for birders to find. The thread http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=182601
is 10 posts long [with Jeff Davies making a rare appearance].

Mike,
Why is it an Arctic Tern? I am genuinely interested to know why (as
will be many others).
As for the record, I would have been very keen to twitch this
myself. It is a shame isn't it, that's it's taken 4 days to get the
message out. Are any other birders in that area, likely to be able
to check for it today?
Cheers,
Simon.

Mat & Cathy have forwarded to me for confirmation of identity the
photograph
on the link below. It is an Arctic Tern. Access to the web site is
for
registered members only. Jeff Davies who is a member, tells me that
the
photo was posted by 'Silver Wolf', and that 2 or even 3 birds were
present
with Crested Terns on 3rd October.
