Hi all,
Driving to Berry at 9:30am today, I watched an adult Brush-turkey walk
across the road. The location is marked as B on the link below. The area
where the BT was seen was mainly temperate rainforest in the Bundewallah
hills on Kangaroo Valley road, about 200metres above sea level. We live at
400 so I am guessing on this. I do know of some people who had released BT
in Kangaroo Valley many years ago in the Upper Kangaroo River area, and over
the years a number of people have said they should be in KV and I gather
Berry Mountain area as well. While living in Kangaroo Valley the past 17
years I had not heard of any sightings of Brush-turkey there. I am now more
hopeful that we might see one here at Bellawongarah.
Has anyone heard of any sightings in this area in recent years?
Regards,
Carla Jackett
