Somehow 150,000 adult and 200,000 juvenile banded stilt have blended into the
background!

To date there have been very few sightings of Banded Stilt since the breeding
event at Lake Torrens in May/June.

Since my last posting, the following observations have been received:
24th Aug - Laura Bay, 20km south of Ceduna - abt 50
24th Aug - Googs Lake, abt 100km north of Ceduna - abt 18
1st Sept - The Coorong - between Hacks & Parnka Points - abt 60, mostly juvenile
3rd Sept - Bird Lake, Port Augusta - 100+
5th Sept - Bird Lake, Port Augusta - 206 (only 4 adult)
8th Sept - The Coorong (north of Magrath Flat) - abt 1,000, est 10% adult

With continued rain in the pastoral lands will they bred again?

Maureen
