Hi all,

Last night at 12.30am, I heard the "falling bomb" descending scream of a Sooty Owl at Wentworth Falls north (Blue Mountains, NSW). This is my first record for that location. The nearest rainforest or wet forest gully would be at least 1km away. Perhaps it came up from the Grose Valley or Water Nymphs Dell.

Sooty Owl records seem to be increasing in the Blue Mountains.

Cheers,

Carol
