Hi,
Andrew Stafford wrote, on Bird-O a couple of weeks ago "my vision of the
“proper” list of Australian birds is a conservative and
frankly outdated one: in essence, by not including birds from external
territories on my list". No comments yet, which I suppose means the Australian
birding community is quite happy to continue listing birds from dependent
territories - something that is quite out of the question in most European
nations. http://bird-o.com/2010/08/09/seeing-700-the-hard-way-continued/
You can also read about the latest Princess Parrot dip but also about the
amazing state of the red centre at the moment. It's breath-taking and well
worth a visit, PP or no PP.
