Location: On the banks of the Torrens behind the zoo
Darter (Anhinga novaehollandiae) (1) The darter was perched on the grass on the
riverbank next to the zoo, between the cycle/walking path and the river, drying
its wings, taking no notice of walkers or cyclists. (It probably couldn't take
off. It looked very wet). We walked past only 2 metres away. The river was
very dirty, and appeared to be liquid black mud, but maybe some fish are
surviving.

Location: Murray River NP, Lyrup Flats
Black-eared Cuckoo (Chrysococcyx osculans) (1) Near campsite 4.
Redthroat (Pyrrholaemus brunneus) (3) In lignum between campsites 4, 5 and the
river.

Date: Sunday, July 18, 2010
Location: Myponga Beach
Eastern Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) (1) First observed flying over the Myponga
River near the bridge.It then flew inland along the river and perched in a dead
Red Gum about 500 metres upstream.
Hooded Plover (Charadrius rubricollis) (2) 2 individuals were foraging among
seaweed on the beach.
