Hi Judith,

The recordings on Xeno-Canto are copyright but are released under a license
that allows use and reuse with some restrictions. Xeno-Canto uses a Creative
Commons license which can be found here:
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/2.5/

Basically the license allows you to download or share the unaltered recordings
for personal use only. If you use the unaltered recordings for websites,
presentations or similar you need to credit the original recordist and source
of the recording. Any other use is restricted by the license but these
restrictions can be waived by the recordist on request.

cheers
