Hi allI'm off to Coffs Harbour for a short break next week. I've been there before, have a copy of the Coffs Bird Routes brochure and have researched the archives, so I have a few spots marked out, but I would be interested if there have been any unusual sightings recently that may be worth following up. (eg report of a Sooty Owl from about 22 April at Sapphire Beach - is this a regular or a one-off) I'm particularly interested in areas or spots where I might see some owls, as that is one area of my list with a few holes - notably Sooty, Masked and Grass. As usual, I will post a trip report on my return. It will be interesting to compare this trip with my 2001 & 06 trips, all done at this time of year.
