Nikolas,
The Crakes usually go quite at this time of year but they are there.
I've had reports of Little Kingfishers along the creek at the gardens.
No news has reached my ears of the Rufous Owls.
I'll be in Cairns on Sunday evening as I fly out to PNG on Monday morning.
Regards,
Alan

Hi there,
I will be in Cairns for business Sat & Sun. Sat morning I may have some
time for some birding.
I heard of a couple of Red-necked Crakes in the Botanical Garden area - is
there an update?
Also I believe that last winter there were some Rufous Owls in town - any
news this year?
Are currently Little Kingfishers around in the Botanical Garden area?
Has the Laughing Gull finally departed?
Cheers,
Nikolas
