Hi CherylNice pics - the "poss cuckoo" is definitely a cuckoo to my eye - it looks like a smaller bird, but did you get an idea on size? Ranges for smaller cuckoos would suggest Horsfields or Black-eared and the pale appearance suggest a juvenile. The back looks greenish, there seems to be some barring on the flanks, and the eye stripe is quite indistinct, which would make me plump for Horsfields. Cheers Tom Wilson |
