Hi there,
Sorry for the late notice: We had another interesting streaked Storm-petrel off
of Wollongong, NSW, last week - 24 April, 2010.
I've been extremely busy with work and wasn't able to analyze the
pictures carefully.
When I first found the bird I called it
"white-bellied SP" (note the lower case "w"). We immediately noticed the chest
streaks, large white underwing panel, the large foot projection
and the clean lower belly/undertail (prior to looking at Raja's photos). The
bird didn't show the underparts expected for a BBSP, nor the
structure expected for a WBSP. I am deliberately not going further here...
You can find three images of this bird on Raja's website ("streaked"
Storm-petrel, Wollongong, NSW, April, 2010).

This makes it number 4 interesting streaked Storm-petrel in a month: (1) Port
Stephens, (2) Ulladulla, (3) Noumea, (4) Wollongong.
Cheers,
Nikolas
P.S. the bird still labeled "New Zealand Storm-petrel, Ulladulla, NSW" is
actually the much discussed and still not identified streaked Storm-petrel off
of Ulladulla, March, 2010.
