Hi all,

For those in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie region who have been out and
about in the west Lake Macquarie area over the last few days. Wondering
whether anyone happened to drive by (and pick up?) a dead Tyto owl around
the Ryhope area (near the Lake Macquarie Memorial Park - crematorium) or
towards Freemans Waterhole from that spot. I have no positive id and it
seems as though someone (or thing) has picked up the body before I could
get out there to take a look. It's barely 1km from the favourite nest tree
of some Masked Owls (at this time of year it won't be good news if one of
the nesting adult birds has been knocked).
