Published sightings for the week ending 25 Apr 2010.

Sun 25 Apr Scarlet Honeyeater, Swift Parrot, Rose Robin Killawarra
Forest, Victoria
Amazing morning at the forest. A male Scarlet Honeyeater was seen near
Irishtown Track in a flowering Mugga Ironbark. They seem to be popping
up all over the state now. Many Swift Parrots around as well. A female
Rose Robin was also seen near Mattamia Rd, a rare autumn visitor here.

Fri 23 Apr Orange-bellied Parrot Western Treatment Plant, Werribee,
Victoria
Two birds flushed from Melaleuca on southern side (high track) of Borrow
Pits around 2:15pm and flew north into the "off limits" area.
Dave Torr, Christine Shelley, Peter Gibbons

Tue 20 Apr Orange-bellied Parrot Western Treatment Plant,
T-Section/The Spit, Victoria
A flock of 6 seen feeding beside the track, they then flew off toward
The Spit. Also of interest was observing the Northern Shoveler in Lake
Borrie North, a female Musk Duck feeding 2 half grown young in Borrie, 3
Brolga flew into T-Sect., and a flock of ~50 White-winged Black Tern of
which ~2/3rds were in full breeding plumage.

Mon 19 Apr Grey Falcon Alice Springs Sewage Ponds, Northern
Territory
Single bird flew low overhead toward the south east. It circled a few
times over the sewage ponds and then continued westerly out of sight. A
great view, fortunately with three of us all clearly identifying the
bird.

Possible Metallic Starling Adelaide River Inn, Northern
Territory
Great views of a pair of Metallic Starlings in the palmtrees inside the
beer garden at the Adelaide River Inn, an hour south of Darwin. Birdata
and all my books tell me they should be confined to Queensland. Does
anyone have any other sightings of Metallic Starling this far west?
[Moderator notes: very unusual, with potential also for other species
such as Singing or Asian Glossy Starling. Worth further investigation.

Sun 18 Apr Grey Falcon Fivebough Swamp, Leeton, New South Wales
Single bird seen and photographed at Fivebough Swamp, Leeton
Troy Mutton

Fri 16 Apr Scarlet Honeyeater Chiltern-Mt pilot national park,
Victoria
Male bird seen feeding at honeyeater picnic area. Good views of bird
seen by a number of people.
