HI All



Recently back from the Philippines and catching up.  This was the
second leg of a 2 part trip and covered some of Luzon, Negros and
Mindanao.  A successful trip expertly arranged & mostly led by Tim
Fisher.  Highlights as follows:



Zamboanga Peninsular: Blue-capped, Silervy and Philippine Kingfisher, Rufous Hornbill, Wattled Broadbill, Short-crested Monarch, Zamboanga
Bulbul, Mindanao Miniature Babbler, Little Slaty & Cryptic Flycatcher



Mt Polis & N Luzon Mtns: Cream-breasted Fruit-Dove, Luzon Scops-Owl,
Whitehead’s Swiftlet, Spotted Kingfisher, Whiskered Pitta, Mountain Shrike, White-lored Oriole, Benguet & Long-tailed Bush-Warbler, Rabor’s Wren-Babbler, Luzon Striped Babbler, Grand Rhabdornis, Ashy Thrush, Blue-breasted & Furtive Flycatcher, White-eared Bullfinch



Negros: Visayan Tarictic Hornbill, White-winged Cuckoo-shrike, Negros Striped & Flame-templed Babbler, Stripe-breasted Rhabdornis, Visayan
White-browed Shama, Black-belted Flowerpecker



Mt Kitanglad: Philippine Eagle, Bukidnon Woodcock, Mindanao Racquet-
tail, McGregor’s Cuckoo-shrike, Black-and-cinnamon Fantail, Apo Myna, Olive-capped Flowerpecker, Grey-hooded & Apo Sunbird, Red-eared
Parrotfinch, White-eared Bullfinch



Picop: Blue-crowned Racquet-tail, Mindanao Hawk-Owl, Rufous-lored
Kingfisher, Mindanao Tarictic & Writhed Hornbill, Short-crested &
Celestial Monarch, Yellowish Bulbul, Mindanao Pygmy Babbler, Rufous-
tailed Jungle Flycatcher, Lina’s Sunbird



If anyone is planning to ever go to the Philippines I would go much
sooner rather than later whilst the birds are still there.
