Hi all,
Just spent the night (April 14th) at Toolumbar NP in NE NSW. There were
several Spectacled Monarchs seen on the "Murray Scrub "Rainforest walk as
well as one Rufous Fantail. The Rufous Fantail was also heard at the
campsite in the park at Iron Pot Creek. In the park some of the birds seen
were Logrunners (mostly male but a female was seen), White-browed Scrubwren,
Large-billed Scrubwren, many noisy Bell Miners, Red-tailed Black Cockatoo,
Wompoo Fruit Dove, male and female Paradise Riflebird, Albert's Lyrebird, as
well as Carpet python, Pademelon, Lace Monitor etc... We had the campground
to ourselves and although a bit of a drive for some, it is well worth it. I
was very pleased to see my first Riflebird, Spectacled Monarch and Albert's
Lyrebird.
Regards,
Carla Jackett
