Just to add to Paul Walbridge's email, if anyone would like a spreadsheet of
what they may see in March off Southport - please let me know. March is often
the best month off Southport with a high diversity of species, particularly of
Petrels.
The south-east winds this week with calmer conditions forecast for Saturday (1m
swell and up to 10kt wind at this stage) and following a cyclone to the north,
are ideal for a spectacular day. This is a list of some of the good birds seen
in previous March trips (those with a * next to them were seen in Feb 2010)
White-necked Petrel *
Black-winged petrel *
White-headed Petrel
Kermadec Petrel *
Herald Petrel
Tahiti Petrel *
Great-winged Petrel *
Gould's Petrel *
Streaked Shearwater
Wedge-tailed Shearwater *
Flesh-footed Shearwater *

If you've dreamt of seeing some of these amazing seabirds and want to go - get
in contact with Paul to fill the last few places.
