Apparently the Darling will be in full flood due to the recent rainfalls,
but the catchments that fill the Murray (southern NSW and northern VIC)
hasn't recieved the same amount of rainfall.
I'd say the 1956 event was sum of major rainfalls in both catchments, so
it probably wont reach the same extent.

Hi Steve -

The Murry flooded. The water peaked at 12.3M at Morgan, breached all
levees and was the highest flood recorded since white settlement.

Cheers
Sis.

Hi All.

Here is an interesting 2010 rainfall stat for consideration.

S/W Qld's current rain for March - 248mm.
Wettest on record for March - 310mm.
When? 1956. What event took place in 1956?

Cheers
