It would appear that these birds have moved on - see below. However, have
had a second-hand report of a Green-headed taivana type Wagtail at Broome.

Hi Mike,
A group of 5 of us met in Cranbrook WA on Sunday morning to try to find the
wagtails and buff-breasted sandpiper. Unfortunately after about 7 hours
searching the area we could find none of these birds. We looked at the area
near Bobs lake on Hamilla Rd where Steve Elson had last seen the wagtails
and while the paddock near the road was covered with pipits, silvereyes,
chats, wood swallows, martins etc we could not find any wagtails. Other
paddocks nearby were pretty well bird free. We scoped over Tom South Lake
and could not find any birds. We had permission to go onto the site where
they were originally found and while this still had water and plenty of
birds there were no wagtails or sandpipers. I checked the sewerage ponds and
town ovals also but had no luck.
David Secomb who lives in Katanning is keen to have a look around when he
returns there this week. Otherwise we will have to hope they pass through
Perth on their way back north and someone spots them.
Cheers
Robyn Pickering
