Hi all, Took advantage of a huge tide today to head out looking for shorebirds. Bird numbers were at an all-time high with many thousands of birds at the Manly roost. The standout bird was a single Double-banded Plover in non-breeding plumage. Not sure if this is an early arrival or an over-summering bird that hadn't been detected til now but either way it is a pretty good bird for February. Two Grey Plovers, and a host of birds in stunning breeding plumage made this a great morning.
