Geoff,
No Problem with the netiquette thing.
The birds certainly sound rather like Spangled Drongo, being on the
Central Coast, though Metallic Starling would be nice :-)
Cheers,

Thanks Carl for that protection I really appreciate what you have said

to Tom Tarrant who offered to send him back an email thru him. Anyway I
decided to send Dave a return email address and here is what he is

am sure that there are many of you out there with far more experience

Spangled
Drongo ?
Regards to you all Geoff

hello. i tried to get to you on what must be an old page of yours, first
thing this morning, er, @barraimaging.
the reason for my hunt is, we have what seems to be a pair of black
birds
feeding off palm trees in the next doors back yard.
the birds are black, with the hint of brown in some feathers. the eyes
are
red. there is brown markings of the wings. to me, the brown makrings
look
like the out-line of a serated knife blade. my wife and i have never
seen
these birds before. i went on the net and i could not see the same birds
there. the closest was the, glossy starling, but, i am sure it is not
what
we are looking at.
i thank you for any information you can give us. we live on the central
coast of n.s.w. regards, davek
