This is another possible Queensland record in the same greater region as the
sightings last July/August when they were seen 150 km NNW of Mount Isa and at
Kingfisher Camp on Bowthorn Station.
This sighting is on the Georgina River, near a semi permanent waterhole. Access
here is easy, so for anyone passing, it may be worth investigating.

> The Gouldian finch I spotted feeding and flying with Zebras was on the side
> of the Barkly Highway at Camooweal some 150m west from the town itself.
> I can't remember what the exact date was but one day in late January 2010.
> It was seen on my early morning walk and really caught my eye as it was the
> first Gouldian I had seen, the colours were unmistakable.
> Unfortunately it then flew off into a larger flock of zebras and disappeared
> into the grass some distance away.
