Dear Birders,
Celia and I are traveling to Aus for a birding holiday. We have two
weeks beginning 2010-02-01. We plan a rough loop from Sydney to
Katoomba north through the interior to possibly as far north as
Brisbane. Thence south along the coast.
We would be willing to go a bit (12 hours) out of our way to maximize
chances to see the splendid fairy-wren and Any of the swifts:
needletail, fork-tail or swiftlets. So any high prob sites for these
taxa will be appreciated.
Also we are keen on an offshore trip. I imagine the only regular trips
are geared towards whale watching. Is one port better than others? Is
one vendor better than others? Alternately good vantages to do a
seawatch would be good too.
