This morning I arrived at the ponds to find Peter Marsh and Darryl Binns
with scope set up for Little Stint. I later had a look through my own
scope. Without someone pointing out the bird to me, I wouldn't have got it,
but I did see white throat look and slight colouration in feathers on back.
It is feeding in spillway between two ponds and can be best seen from
roadway on west of sewerage works on second pond heading away from town.
There is a spillway from that pond to the next pond down.

I had my scope on semipalmated plover and thought I would try and see the
webbing between toes. Initially, I thought this was going to be hopeless,
rather than difficult. Today it was feeding, first amongst rocks, then side
on, then behind silver gulls but eventually it walked towards me and I was
able to see webbing between outer toes as it walked.

Also, behind sand-dune at Cable Beach this morning two channel-billed
cuckoos calling and flying.
