Dear All,

I think that culling Barbary Doves will be an ongoing problem. Some aviculturist are loth to wring the necks of birds that they breed that are excess to requirement or do not meet show or generally accepted standards and so, release them into the wild. This applies to bird species other than Barbary Doves. Considering the number of species kept in Australia now that eggs can be imported for hatching, it is surprising that more non-indigenous species are not seen in urban areas. I wonder how long it will be till we see the first Macaw?

Cheers,

Carl Clifford
