Greg, I understand there have been a few in
Noosa lately, but don't depend on it. Best time to view terns is from
midday onwards and on a low tide, but the time is more important that
the tide. That doesn't mean you'll not see them in the mornings, but
the odds are best for pm. They come and go from their feeding sessions
at sea. You'll also see Littles and Commons.
