The earlier edition had (it says) about 8500 names - and a slightly larger typeface. On a very superficial look at a few pages, there are new entries. Some of the old entries are repeated (especially the ones that are just the meaning of the word). Some are the same information slightly rewritten, and some are entirely changed presumably the result of research in the interim. There is quite a long discussion of the differences in the introduction, for example new genera and spp described or separated between June 1990 and Oct 2009 are included. Someone who is a faster typist or a more skilful scanner than I am may like to circulate this bit of the introduction. The introduction itself covers topics relevant to previous discussion here (eg priority, preservation of well-established names, grammar and gender, etc.)

If you have and value the earlier work, I think you would want this one too.
