There were quite a few Cattle Egrets for a few days in a paddock (viewed
from Bass Hwy) just on the western edge of Wonthaggi in December.
Unfortunately I didn't write dates and/or numbers, but a few birding friends
in the district commented about them too. Haven't noticed any since
Christmas, but I'm not over that way very often, especially at this time of
the year.
I have noticed the general lack of Spoonbills and Egrets of any sort over that last few months in places I would have expected to see them. Elizabeth Shaw Phillip Island Victoria |
