Good Afternoon all

It has been a hectic few weeks for me as
in the last 3 weeks I have been to Tassie, then O'reillys at Lamington NP
and then up to Darwin to photograph the Little Grebe and I am very grateful
to Niven Mc Crie for taking me to Leanyer Sewage Ponds. I then went down to
Kakadu for a couple of days and we then came back to Darwin as the rain had
set in ( 375mm over the weekend ) My mate has a property of 5 acres near Mc
Minns Lagoon and when we awoke on Saturday morning we had 10 Swinhoe's Snipe
on his property and I called Daryll Binns who just lived around the corner
and he was able to confirm the number it was quite incredible. My tally now
is 597 species photographed and hopefully I will make 600 by the end of the
year. I say this as I want you all to know that I could not realise my quest
to photograph 750 species in 5 years without the expert help from
professional guides and the kindness of many of you on Birding Aus. It
saddens me greatly to here of some dribbling imbecile abusing Alan and such
practice should not be tolerated by any birding group. I usually keep my
mouth shut on this forum as I do not want to offend anyone but when someone
whom I have a very high opinion of is abused then I will gladly put my two
bobs worth in! Regards to all of you Geoff Jones
