Common names can be confusing and depending on the "authority" you use then
you may get different names. The usual Koel in Australia is called by
Christidis and Boles "Eastern Koel" - there is an Asian Koel which indeed is
an Asian bird that is rare vagrant that has been seen on Christmas Island.
Non of our other cuckoos are called Asian except for the possible Asian
Drongo-Cuckoo that may have turned up on Christmas as well.
But the IOC (worldbirdnames.org) which I guess takes a more "global" view
than C&B calls the Eastern Koel a Pacific Koel.....
