Dear All,

Does anyone know if Columba livia in Australia belongs to any particular sub sp., or are they just a hodge-podge through constant mixing in of genes from domesticated strains.

Why I ask, is that I have started using new software for recording my sightings and it offers 13 sub sp. of C. livia, but none whose range extends to Australia. The closest is C. l. intermedia, from India and Sri Lanka.

Cheers,

Carl Clifford
