Hi all,

I just thought some of you may be interested in the Painted Snipe that was seen
at River Heads in Queensland this past week. John Knight of Hervey Bay
birdwatchers first discovered the bird while taking a group of Bundaberg
birders around a lagoon at a cattle property last Sunday. On Thursady he took a
couple of locals out and the bird was still there. There is a photo of the bird
here:

John Knight mentioned that there have been very few recordings of the bird this
year and this is the first time one has been seen out at River Heads.
