Hi all, I'm wrapping up an extended birding trip to Australia (interupted by
some time in New Zealand). I'll have 6 days, travelling from Melbourne to
Sydney via Deniliquin for a Plains Wanderer weekend. So I'll have about 2 days
Melbourne to Deniliquin, and two and a half days Deniliquin to Sydney. So I'd
appreciate any advice on getting some targets that I have managed to miss and
that I probably won't get on the PW weeekend and that I dould conceivably get
on the way without too big a detour. They are:

Freckled Duck (I've tired a lot of places "they were there a couple weeks ago")

Cape Barren Goose

Mallee Fowl (Only if there is some failry sure thing)

Spotless Crake

Little, Painted Buttonquail (I am unable to find buttonquails)

Glossy black Cockatoo

Gang-gang Cockatoo

Powerful owl

Chestnut-rumped Heathwren

Pilotbird (Missed at Barren Grounds, maybe not early enough)

Painted Honeyeater (Backup if missed on PW weekend)

Shriketit

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Bob French
