Had a look around Phoenix Park Wetlands( which now has some water in it)
at Pt Pirie ( SA) last evening. There were hundreds and hundreds of
Black-tailed Native Hens there, I've never seen so many in one area.
Only a few other things, a couple of Caspian Terns, a few Grey Teal, and
hundreds of Silver Gulls.
Oh, and we heard lots of Reed Warblers.
Tony.

Subject: Black-tailed Native Hen at Mt Annan Botanic
Garden(NSW)
There was a single Black-tailed Native Hen at Lake Sedgwick at Mt Annan
Botanic Garden today (1.30pm). It's a new bird for the bird list, the
first I have seen in more than 22 years working there. Yesterday
afternoon, c. 3 pm, I saw a single adult Square-tailed Kite, being
severely harrassed by a Magpie, c. 3 km north of Luddenham on the
Northern Road. Richard. ==========www.birding-aus.org
